I came across a wonderful Chardonnay the other day. A 2009 Esser Chardonnay from Monterey County on  California’s Central Coast.  With just a touch of oak, and aromas of citrus and pear, this Chardonnay works beautifully as an aperitif.  Why pair it with anything when it’s simply divine all by itself?
